Developer plans pricey 24-unit community along the Hudson River
NORTH CREEK --
A developer here is preparing to break ground on a 24-unit townhouse community
alongside the Hudson River. The project, called River's Edge, still needs final approval from local and state agencies. It would be built near the Gore Mountain Ski Resort and directly across the Hudson from Ski Bowl Village, a proposed condominium and retail development. River's Edge would be built by Residential Property Management LLC of Saratoga Springs. The $12 million project would have a log-home look typical of the Adirondack architectural style. Its units won't come cheap: Prices will range from $600,000 to $700,000. Greg Raczkowski, owner of Residential Property Management, said he hopes construction will begin this spring, with the units ready for purchase a year later. North Creek, in Warren County, is about 90 miles northwest of Albany. The hamlet along Route 28 suffered several economic setbacks late last year. The Copperfield Inn, a top-rated hotel, closed, as did sporting-goods retailer The Mountain and Boardertown. But River's Edge and Ski Bowl Village, proposed by Connecticut-based Front Street Mountain Development, promise a wave of new economic development. Ski Bowl Village would include about 200 town homes and other residential units, several hotels and an 18-hole golf course. |
