NORTH CREEK -- It snowed a little
on Tuesday, as if to remind the North Country that winter isn’t
far away. |
"And then," she added,
"they will be able to enter the base area where they’ll have
access to all of the lifts." By making the Northwoods Lodge the new home of equipment rentals, day care and ski school programs, Gore Mountain’s more experienced skiers will also benefit. "Established skiers will had an added 7,500 square feet of renovated space in the existing base lodge," Stanton said. "It’s allowed us to add more tables and storage areas there." According to Pratt, the base lodge now has 400 additional seats and 250 additional lockers. Gore officials said they not only believe the 20,000-square-foot Northwoods Lodge will enhance the Gore experience, they also believe it will enhance the quintessential Adirondack appearance of the resort. "Gore Mountain has been very excited to work in cooperation with Lincoln Logs on this project," Stanton said. "They have supported our goal of developing our buildings in Adirondack style so that they blend into the environment. The lodge was done in log cabin style." "It’s always been our goal to theme our buildings after the great camps of the Adirondacks," she said. In 2006, Gore won its third Silver Eagle award. According to Stanton, the Silver Eagle is an international award given to ski areas for excellence and visual, environmental impact. |
